Lyfe Max · Deep Red fit-over eyewear
Own Your Night.
Deep-red eyewear designed for nighttime light management.
A wraparound Deep Red shield with top and side coverage. Wear it on its own or over many prescription glasses.
The product
One wraparound lens, built for the evening.
Our first product is a Deep Red fit-over: a single curved lens with a top shield and side shields, designed for more coverage around the eyes than a conventional small frame. It's roomy enough to wear over many prescription glasses, and comfortable enough to wear on its own.
- 01
Deep Red lens
A one-piece lens in a deep ruby-red tint, with the lens data shown below so you don't have to guess from the color.
- 02
Top and side coverage
A brow shield and side shields are designed to reduce light coming in around the lens, not just through it.
- 03
Wear it over your glasses
About 145 mm of usable inside width. Check the fit guide before you choose. We'd rather you measure first.
- 04
Adjustable temples
Three length settings, plus a Lyfe Max zip case with clip and a microfiber cloth.
How to use them: Deep Red lenses strongly change how colors look. Use them indoors as part of your evening routine. Don't wear them for driving, color-critical tasks, or as laser or other safety eyewear.
Lens data
The numbers, with the fine print next to them.
Color alone can't tell you how much light a lens filters. Here is the laboratory measurement we rely on, what it covers, and what it doesn't.
>99.9%
of light filtered out at every reported wavelength from 400 to 549 nm, covering blue and shorter-wavelength green light, in a 2022 laboratory measurement of a reference lens sample.
Our manufacturer states that the Lyfe Max Deep Red lens uses the same lens material, protection wavelength range and protection-band optical-density specification as that sample, in a deeper tint. The sample measured was orange; the Deep Red version was not separately measured in this report. This is not a claim about all green light.
Selected readings from the report
| Wavelength | Reported OD | Light transmitted | Light filtered out |
|---|---|---|---|
| 532 nm | 6 | 0.0001% | 99.9999% |
| 546 nm | 6 | 0.0001% | 99.9999% |
| 547 nm | 3.980358 | 0.0105% | 99.9895% |
| 549 nm | 3.124876 | 0.0750% | 99.9250% |
| 550 nm | 2.815011 | 0.1531% | 99.8469% |
| 560 nm | 0.958583 | 11.0006% | 88.9994% |
| 570 nm | 0.324618 | 47.3568% | 52.6432% |
| 600 nm | 0.061308 | 86.8344% | 13.1656% |
| 650 nm | 0.030287 | 93.2638% | 6.7362% |
| 700 nm | 0.045528 | 90.0476% | 9.9524% |
OD values as listed in the report; percentages are our calculations, rounded to four decimals. The report lists OD 6 from 200 to 546 nm without stating a measurement ceiling or uncertainty, so the extra decimal places don't imply that precision. At 550 nm filtering drops below 99.9%, which is why our claim stops at 549 nm.

A lens measurement describes how light passes through the lens. It is not a clinical study, a sleep-outcome test, or a product-safety certification.

Measure your whole frame
Lay your prescription glasses flat and measure straight across their outermost edges, not just the lenses or the printed size on the arm.
Start around 140 mm or less
Frames about 140 mm wide or narrower have more clearance. In our own testing, a ~140 mm frame fit well; a ~145 mm frame with prominent nose pads did not.
Check shape and depth
Tall frames, wide shapes, and nose pads that push your glasses forward all use up room. If you're near the limit, email us your measurements and we'll give you our honest read.
This is guidance, not a guarantee. We haven't tested every frame.
